    pond fibreglassing

    im planning a swap from liner to fibreglass in my pond using a celotex base, thinking of glassing it myself, has anyone done this and got any tips i.e. best place to get materials from and dos and donts. also want to know how i fit a seal the celotex around my returns and bottom drain

    when concreting the base should you bring it level with BD lip, also what do you do when lining with kingspan probably 12mm how do you join the foam with the BD and return pipes

    Hi daz, I asked this same question & was told to concrete to the lip yes, and when lining the sides and floor, to go over the bottom drain & get a sharp knife and cut out were bottom drain is, Then if your getting it glassed to cut into the foil only about an inch and peel it off in a circle so only the foam is showing & then get some fine sandpaper and sand the foam into a rounded edge over the bottomdrain, so the glass has got no sharp edges.

    spot on tommy . just how i did mine. and use flanged returns just push it though the board and sand it a bit so it has a good key for the fibreglass.

    another question, when i come to the glassing i have a small ledge half way down would i do a run of glass from top of pond over ledge to bottom oe in sections
