    Young Koi

What do you look for for in a young Koi say 2-4 inchs to tell what they'll look be like when bigger, or is it impossible to tell?

Also is it safe to buy young Koi online and have them sent to you?

I tried this at the back end of last year; I had a 240g tank for a few fry I'd picked up from cuttlebrook koi farm. They didn't seem to settle at all though, they would freak out and swim at the glass whenever I walked by.

I moved most of them into a QT after a few days and got rid of the tank; I did keep 3 of the smallest in a little planted tropical aquarium I had and they did really well; they've all now been moved to the QT after doubling in size.

Maybe they just needed some cover and it was the bare tank which was the problem.

How have they turned out John?
I think I prefer pure Japanese fish rather than British Bred fish, as I feel the colours look brighter/clearer, this is a pure novice's view though
