To be honest John very hard to tell from those photos be better to use a blue bowl next time but only when you need to do anything for those fish don't put them through any unnecessary stress imo .

Hi John I would guess that it's more like a Mirror Carp than a common as it looks like it has some large scales and smaller scales, commons normally evenly scaled but that's only what I can see in the photos.

What are these two please.
This one looks like a standard mirror carp john i have a big mirror in mine, love her to death mate.
Cant really tell by the other picks which one you mean but if its the dark goldy doitsu fish then its very similar also could maybe get away with saying a doitsu chag. You can get throw backs but the one i say is a mirror is likely just a black scaless koi as thats where it came from, but then dont forget all koi came from wild carp originally and the japs and others mixed in european carp strains including the good old fat scaleless mirror carp for certain attributes (mainly the scaless attribute ha ha)

Thanks for that Lee,i want to get rid of them as i need the room to be honest and i dont know what variety they are, common carp ok lovely colour on him,the other one is the brown doitsu one, wouldnt think a chag.
Not the biggest of koi in length but a big girth and strong looking koi, thanks for that Lee.John

No problem john girth or more belly ha ha is a perticular attribute to a mirror haha
