Species ID
I have two koi given to me last yr and i cannot remember the variety..
The first is similar to a Tancho but where the red mark on the head is tbis koi as a light pinkish mark...
Sorry no pic as the koi is hiding behind a lilly basket..
The other koi is this one below..

for species its just a domesticated carp (Cyprinus carpio) in the same way house cats are Felis catus and dogs Canis familiaris, its the variety your after i believe and that may well be Kohaku, but after 5 mins the image has not loaded due to cost saving sat connection being woeful even when the beach is in eye sight, but roaming charges of £2mb mean im not coming off the ships net

Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
