ok here goes, doitsu are just koi with no scales, ghost koi are a common carp/ogon hybrid which started in the 80s,when a fish farmer mated a common carp with an ogon, they also grow like mad and are very hardy, perfect for people just starting out or that dont want to go down the purist koi route,as a lot dont actually class them as koi but ghost carp, widely available and cheap to buy, hope this helps, andi

Andi is pretty much bang on there ghost koi is a term used for koi that are no real variety also but are (usually) a silver/bronze metalic koi they can also be fully scaled or doitsu. Just like any variety ie kohaku, showa, sanke etc.. Can be Scaled or scale less which is doitsu.
