Pond covers and heating winter is coming
So guys it went down to 5c last night where I live in dartford. Checked pond temp and it was at 14. Few more nights like that and I’m sure it will drop the pond temp! At what temp should the pond water be before I take action putting on the poly sheet and start up the heater? I just have a large aquarium heater that’s suitable for 1000l(apparently) either way I’m going to set it up on a timer to go on/off every half hour! Just to take the edge off the coldness. Iv also made a wooden box insulted it for my filter and got some pipe lagging for the pump pipe leading to the filter. Any thoughts be greatly appreciated .... cheers guys
