frogs visited and koi flashing....
Hi, recently I have 2 frogs keep returning into my pond ... I have a net over the pond but seem they can squeeze through the net and hide themselves in the water crisis floating basket....
I have net them out few times this week, last night they didn't return but since their first visited my koi starting to flash, my koi hardly ever flash........
they seem swimming around fine and happy and coming to me for feed but still flashing....
I have done 30% water change last Sunday and 20% this Thursday because of the frogs and the flashing....
few of them have shown carp pox for the very first time since the frog visit....
any idea to stop the frogs or is it ok to have frogs?

You need to test your water and post the results.
Also need to do scrapes.

I very much doubt the frogs are the reason for flashing
firstly are you using a de chlorinator
secondly what are water parameters
have you scraped any koi and checked for any parasites
and carppox isn't caused by frogs it's temp related and not carried and passed on by frogsLast edited by Darrens koi; 12-09-2016 at 06:35 AM.

Thank you for all your replies, a quick updates, I took the pond water to the local fish shop and they tested it for me and the water was fine, as they are flicking like mad, I put in salt treatment but it didn't do nothing, so I put in fluke solve and now all the flashing have stopped meanwhile while all that happened they developed white spots as I do not want any more things go into the pond, I feed them raw mashed garlic mixed with medi koi food, now all white spots are gone. I have hozelock easy clear 3000 Ltr as fountain and powerjet maxflo 3500 pump on to a tower with biohome and pumus and I changed water 20% once a week using pondvac and washed the sponges. Is it normal there are still fish poo in the pond even the pump on 24/7? My pond is 450gal round
Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
