2x Show Quality British Bred Broadtail Moors for sale
Appreciate this is the wrong forum but people here generally have a good idea on how to keep fish alive and that's important to me.
I have a 1 year old pair of male Broadtail Moors (Black Moors / Telescopic Eye) for sale.
They were bought to breed with the very last female from my strain dating back to the 90's, but at 20 years old the female developed serious swim bladder problems ahead of the breeding season and I reluctantly had to put her to sleep.
Therefore I'm no longer going to continue keeping fancy goldfish.
This pair of males come from a British strain dating back to the 1950's.
They are fully up to current show standards and the better one of the 2 is more than capable of winning a top 4 prize in its class. They come from a lineage that has won many first prizes / best in class and even nominations for best in show. The main thing preventing this strain from winning best in show are the eyes which are a little smaller than the judges like to see, but personally I prefer them and believe fish with smaller eyes have a much better quality of life.
They are both in tip top condition and ready to breed if you want to go down that route - You can see the vast amount of breeding tubercles in the pics.
They are approximately 5.5" and 6" respectively including tail (measurements are normally taken excluding tail but they won't stay still long enough to get an accurate body length measurement). When fully grown they can achieve 9" to 12" including tail.
£100 the pair, offers considered.
Collection would be from near Dartford Bridge.
Quality of pics doesn't do them justice - they are under bright LED lights and constantly swim at full speed - probably hunting for that elusive female!
This strain is generally kept above 8C all year round but they'll tolerate down to 6C quite well. I've never taken them lower than that. They are currently at 22C.
If kept in a tank they'll need at least 4 foot to maintain health and growth.

They've given up looking for a female and decided to just get it on with each other!
They've been at it like this constantly since a water change on Friday.
Excuse my son playing silly buggers in the reflection!
For anyone interested in these fish (doesn't look likely on a Koi forum right now), expect 1 or 2 missing scales if this carries on....
