Barbel in a Koi pond?
Really?
Don't agree with that one myself, I love Barbel and caught my share on the Rivers Wye and Severn, but I really believe that they don't belong in a Lakes let alone a garden pond, only my opinion of course

Biggest I've had is 12lb+ on Severn in a finning down from a huge flood, fought like a tiger too, had 5 fish that day all over 10lb, just above Arley right hand bank River flowing right to left.
We arrived at the camp/caravan site to find devastation with challet's flooded off their berths and a stream that had become a total torrent of fast flood water that had overflowed its banks washing away all in its path, it was a site for sore eyes, strewth, we arrived maybe a week after the floodLast edited by Tom Koi; 19-05-2019 at 12:03 AM.

Mines 12lb too but the hunt goes on for a bigger one. There are 20lb fish done here in the Kennet, Lodden and Thames so quite lucky in that regard.
Going to do a spot of Carp fishing on the Thames in the new season. Haven’t fished it for some time and am chomping at the bit for some river action. They go like rockets in there
I have a ticket for a little private stretch away from the glory hunters and my “spot” is a tucked out of the way little swim right at the mouth of a marina.

Good Luck with it. about 18 months ago was the last time I fished and that was on the Wye at a known Barbel spot I blanked, river was low though, but blanked I did.
got all the match fishing gear here, but ain't ain't wet a line on a lake for probably 3yrs, probably need to change all the elastic in my top 3's off the pole and re do rigs, Im seriously thinking of getting it all sorted so I can go though,
