Sorry to hear that Johnathan. It's never nice to hear something like that has happened. Is it worth getting the fish checked out to find out what it was for future reference?

Could you not put it in an insulated bag and stick it in the fridge or freezer? Make sure you tell your wife or she'll have a heart attack when she opens the freezer or fridge and that falls out when she is looking for the ice creams

That's a shame Johnathan but you tried.
Did you actually send Paula a photo of the fish ? if you did then maybe it would still be worth ringing her and
asking her, her thoughts on what she thinks the problem was, tumour / something else.

For your own peace of mind it would be good to know the cause just in case it was something that could be passed on to or by your other fish?

Sorry to read that you lost her Johnathan.

I'm dreading my first Koi loss which inevitably will happen sooner or later.

Only consolation is that it didn't die through something you've done wrong, and if you did catch it earlier you could have spent loads of money and stress trying to fix her only for the inevitable to happen anyway.

It would be good to know what the cause may have been, just to help all our knowledge.

Did your best mate that's all that matters.

Would be good to know the cause as said in case it pops up again on here.
