Thanks for all help given for this fish unfortunately when I went this morning with phone in hand to call Paula looked down and it was to late really gutted I've lost her . Not had her long only a year but long enough to become a family member . 10cm when got to 25cm now .

Sorry to hear that Johnathan. It's never nice to hear something like that has happened. Is it worth getting the fish checked out to find out what it was for future reference?

Hadn't thought about it to be fair could be an idea like but I wouldn't know where to start ie keeping it for braking down

That's a shame Johnathan but you tried.
Did you actually send Paula a photo of the fish ? if you did then maybe it would still be worth ringing her and
asking her, her thoughts on what she thinks the problem was, tumour / something else.

Am pulling a couple out tomorrow to scrape as iv just thos minute seen 2 flash all hands to panic stations even worse that am ment to be flying out to Spain on early hours Monday but stopping at airport Sunday .

Sorry to read that you lost her Johnathan.
I'm dreading my first Koi loss which inevitably will happen sooner or later.
Only consolation is that it didn't die through something you've done wrong, and if you did catch it earlier you could have spent loads of money and stress trying to fix her only for the inevitable to happen anyway.
It would be good to know what the cause may have been, just to help all our knowledge.
