    Something wrong

can any one help to find out what is wrong with one ov my fish. It swims near the surface. And is acting docile. It seems to be gasping for air. There is only the tail fin that tends to move.i can pick it up in my hand without it tring to swim away,my other fish seem fine. I have noticed its gills have started to curl outwards abit. Many thanks

It has been really warm the last few days so could be low oxygen in the water. You got any air stones or moving water such a water fall?

. Just had the pipe from my pump going in of about 3 inch from the water. As I haven't built my water fall yet. I had an idea it was to do with the oxygen. But wasn't sure. I've put a foutain on that should help. Would it be worst getting the water tested. Thanks for reply

Is it a new pond. How old is the pond.
Could be new pond syndrome. Get a water testing kit. Unless you have one. Link

And put all your readings on here. Ph. Ammonia. Nitrite. Nitrate. Kh. Pond water
    And from the tap
Also test water for chlorine. Using dpd4
    Tablets.

    Something wrong

I have had this behaviour before, I put it down to an internal issue followed by septicaemia. Once the fish become unresponsive like you have described I suspect it will only last a few days.

I’m not sure if there is anything else that can be done for this fish?

Do follow Fred’s advise to prevent further potential issue.

Hope in your case it does not follow the same fait as mine.. others may have other thoughts on this.
