Carp pox
Hi,
I have a asagi with carp poxs. He had it when I bought him I just didn’t read the ad properly. Anyway I looked it up and decided to have him anyway. Through the summer it wasn’t bad at all but now it’s getting colder it’s getting really bad, is it normal for it to get worse when it gets cold? Is there anything i should be doing to help him or do I just leave him?
Sorry for bad pic but best I could get(he’s gin rin but pic makes it look like it’s blisters on his body)
Thanks

Carp pox is best thought of as similar to cold sores in people (cause by a very similar herpes virus).
The immune system is a big part of keeping that virus in check. If you make sure that pond temps and diet are all in favour of healing and recovery, the virus will not win. If however your water parameters are not optimal and you are not heating over the winter, a fish compromised like the can succumb to the disease and might not make it.2016 new 6000 gallon pond
