100% on there being flukes there, and it looks like Trich aswell, but definitely flukes!!
When I’ve had/seen Trich you can usually see them moving about though. Might be odd one where it hardly moves much at all, but usually there mobile!

Microscope Photos
Skin flukes but couldn’t make out anything else on the slides.
Make sure you use cover slips as that makes things easier.

Thank you all for your advice. Slowly getting used to the microscope and not relying heavily on the mini grab to identify beasties from the off. Going to try another scrape at lunch time and see how it goes from there.
So before I go doing anything radical, what medication would you suggest please ? and also where from as there are loads of companies who sell but I have no idea which to trust.

Well that kind of depends on what you have, and if it’s more than one parasite then I’d say go for the one that’s in there in greater numbers 1st.
It’s pretty clear you’ve got skinflukes so that’s a start - you know you need something to treat those, if you’ve also got Trich too, then there could mean something else treatment wise too.
I’d do a few more scrapes 1st though to be sure you know what there is and isn’t!
You can get treatments readily enough off of eBay!

Done a bit of research and bought Fluke M from Kusuri. Has anyone used it before and are able to provide extra guidance ?

Have you got a drum filter!?
If so you may want to bypass it whilst treating with the fluke m as there’s a chance the drum might take it out (to some extent), and possibly mean it doesn’t work!!

I have used Flukesolve in the past but as you have already got some treatment give it a go. Just remember to add more aeration as some treatments tend to lower the O2 in the water. But treat the parasites there are more of or more likely to cause your fish problems first.

I was caught out a few years ago when using a blanket weed treatment. The information in the instructions wasn't that good and I didn't put in any additional aeration and ended up loosing a few fish and knocked out my filters. Took a while to recover from that before the pond came back to normal.
So be careful with the dosages and good luck.

Thank you. I have loads of air going in so hopefully that will be enough. Working out the exact volume of water in the pond and have checked the website which is very well informed to me ...

I thought I had loads of aeration in my pond at the moment but my O2 readings are only 5 mgl which is a bit low. Have added a bit more aeration and will check again later. The heat is causing all sorts of problems at the moment so need to keep testing until things settle down again.

I've scraped a few of my fish today, it looks like the "Fluke Solve" has worked for me, fingers crossed, that's one parasite off the list to deal with, one to go

A quick check of the team this morning with no fatalities. Not pushing my luck but a bit happier for now. Keeping the UV off and will keep an eye on them. Best to carry out another scrape in a weeks time ?
