Fish help please
Can anyone help with this please. Just come home to find this one swimming but going belly up looks like has scales come off and redish sore on the bottom.
Tested water and all test are fine.
I have put in own tank with areator.
All other fish seem fine.20170901_151508.jpg

Hi Stupot, sorry to see you're having problems.
Can you post your readings, together with what test kit you're using. I'm not an expert by any means, but that looks more like a physical injury than one caused by poor water quality. You say you came home and found him swimming upside down and in this bad condition; when was the last time you saw him healthy before that?
If he's in his own tank now, I'd consider adding some PDV salt, if you have any, to help lower stress levels and hopefully with the healing of whatever is wrong with him.
I've not had to treat physical wounds before so I can't really comment on the best course of action beyond the salt.

Just found this sticky thread in the other Koi Health forum that may give you an idea what you need to do to treat a wound - https://www.koiforum.uk/koi-health-d...ted-wound.html

Hi adster thanks for your replies. I put salt in after asking a local shop. Sadly it didnt work. He lasted 2 days and this morning found him dead. I have tested my water with nt labs kit all is fine and i have also done a 25% water change this evening.
All other dish are fine all eating and cant seem to see any marks on any of the others. Going to test water again in the morning also

Sorry Stupot, hadn't spotted that your posts were a couple of days old and also sorry to hear that he didn't make it.
If you've no other reason to suspect anything else is afoot and the others are all ok, then I'll guess you'll have to put this one down as a bit of a mystery as to what caused it. As a precaution it might be an idea to scrape the others to look for any parasites but again, I don't think it was a parasite issue, especially if it happened in a short space of time.

I shown the pictures of the fish to the guy in the shop. He said it most likely been attacked by something. Eg a cat. I have since fitted a net so fingers crossed i get no more mysteries
