Costia treatment
Morning all! Had some unhappy koi for just over a month now, scraped just over a month ago found, gill & skin flukes plus tric. At the time the pond water was only 9.5oC but treated with fluke M then 5 days later dosed with pp. week after this still had this one fish that would lay clamped fins on its side at the bottom of the pond, then a hour later it would be happily swimming round coming up for food..?
Water temps up to 14 now with the warm weather we’ve had so scraped last night to find only costia, now I’ve got pp but this obviously didn’t work because I used this just over a month ago for the tric so do I go get mg/f to treat with this?
All fish seem a little happer now the temps are up but still got some flashing, some with red veins also noticed ones got a red mark coming on it’s side probably from flashing... so need to get this costia killed before they start getting ulcers which happened a few years ago!
Ammonia 0
nitrires 0
ph 8.3

Added a new fish on Saturday came out this morning and she’s sat on the bottom clamped fins, just tested water again because I have increased the feeding but still 0 ammonia, would costia attack a new fish that quick?
This is the test results, I have trouble telling what colour I’m seeing so I have to ask the wife everytime lol
The red mark that’s appeared over the last few days...
All seem happy again now

Have you tested your ph and kh?
I always been led to believe costia is pretty serious so probs best to get on top asap. Never really had an issue with costia but I did get chilodonella last year. The fish did, not me.Last edited by kikokuryu John; 22-04-2019 at 09:24 PM.
