    eradick and melafix together?

    Some history:

Messy pond with lots of debris.
    Filter was shedding water
    Blanketweed

    7 koi
    8000 litres ish

    Blanketanswer applied 2 weeks ago
    Filter changed on saturday
    Cloverleaf absolute biogel applied sunday
Loads of debris cleared last 2 days (but disrupted maybe)

    Today:

4 off the fish appear to have fin problems...3 dark fish have white grey tips, 1 sanke has a grey/black stripe on white fin.

1 other koi is flashing...alot but in spells with long gaps...

Dont really have any diagnostic kits. Have basic pond sticks to test ph etc arriving tomorrow.

Started a course of Eradick (antifungal and anti parasite)

Was wondering if I can simultaneously treat with melafix for the antibac side?

    Any help appreciated

    Regards

    K

Off the shelf pond remedies are no substitute for making an actual diagnosis using a scrape!

Probably the worst thing to do is keep putting treatments in one after the other as some require a little time to work and also to fully disappear from the water before you can add something else. One treatment could possibly counteract the other and render it useless or worse, make it harmful to the fish. Some treatments can be used at the same time but you need to know which ones do and which ones don't. Treating blind is never a good idea and not being able to check your water parameters before during and after treatment isn't good either. Some treatments can lower the O2 levels in the pond and different temperatures have an effect on how toxic things like Ammonia can be. You may be treating for something that you can easily remedy with just a couple of small water changes. If you have been using cloverleaf blanket answer at the full stated dose and not added any additional aeration you will most probably find your O2 levels are too low and you Ammonia and most likely Nitrite levels are too high and if you don't deal with it ASAP you will been struggling to keep your fish alive.

Sorry I'm not trying to scare you just trying to educate you as we all have to start somewhere and learn from our mistakes. But a few mistakes can be avoided by asking questions and doing a bit of reading to see what others have done previously.

The best advice at the moment is get yourself a test kit and get some readings ASAP post them on here and someone will be able to help you with your next steps OK.

You will need to be able to test for PH, Ammonia. Nitrite, Nitrate and KH as the main basic tests also you can test for GH, O2, Chlorine and Temperature.
