Yamabuki ogon
Hi fellow fish fanatics! I'm new to the forum and need some help with my yamabuki ogon. I woke up about 9 days ago and went to check the pond to find my 3 year old ogon had developed a slight lump (internal) on his right flank it didn't look too bad so I added some salt to the pond as i read this can help with retention. The swelling seemed to go down for the next 3 days and returned to normal, well today I begin the daily ritual of checking all inhabitants and feeding and whatnot and it's back but not as bad as before it's only really slightly. He seems happy and is feeding normally and hanging out with his buddies he seems totally fine but I'm worried to death it may be something sinister. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for checking out this thread. I'm pretty sure he's a male as this spring he started to chase one of the older females I have. This slight swelling doesnt seem to bother him ive been outside with them most of today observing and he's good. I've never seen this type of one sided swelling before the only other time it was a dropsy issue with a goldfish i had but its nowhere near like that. I'm not sure how to post a pic as I'm only a new member.

You may need to make about 10 posts before you can post a picture.
Try just posting in this thread "this is my x post. Hope you like it". Then do the same till you get to 10 posts. Then look for a button called "Manage Attachments".
Press that.
In the next screen select the "Add Files" box in the top right hand corner. The rest is fairly self explanatory. Although you may need to re-size any huge (data-wise) images before it will let you post them.
Did the lump 100% deffo go down when you added salt?
