    My favourite Koi

85-90cm Sansai Chagoi - obviously my best mate!
    IMG_6870.jpg

60cm Yamabuki Ogon (hard to get a decent pic but Sansai)
    IMG_6872.jpg

The best in the pond - 50cm Kohaku (nisai)

All 3 are stunning mate. Better quality than anything in my pond!

Did you buy the kohaku as nisai or tosai?

    Thanks pal!

Bought the Kohaku as a Tosai - it looked like it might turn into a 3 step and had that characteristic proud backbone so took a punt. Glad I did!

P.S. plenty of fails in the pond i'm not showing you!

Three awesome fish there My favourite Koi im a softy for chags and yama mate and they are cracking. Kohaku looks very clean too and has done very well from tosai My favourite Koi wouldnt say no to any of them.
As said above theres not really such a thing as “failed” its more of a “not quite as expected” ha ha. Most of us have them, me probably more than most.

I have a stunning little Kohaku. Whenever I look at it I'm amazed at how perfect it looks.

Problem is, I bought it at 8cm, it grew to 13cm and has been stuck there ever since!

The Asagi's and the Matsuba's are a favourite of mine, amazing looking fish.

Kohako, Showa's and Sankey's run them close though, the white with patches of black look a good addition to a pond to.

I have a similar situation. We went to koimasters with the family fathers day 6 years ago. I was never a kohaku fan but the Mrs loves them. They picked me a kohaku with stunning patterns. However Chris did advise them it was most expensive in the size range but it would never be a big fish. True to his word it stayed tiny while others grew massive. Still a pretty little koi.
