Short Video of my Koi
All of these purchased between May and June sized between 8cm and 18cm. All are now between 14cm and 30cm.
All except for the 2 small Sanke's and possibly the metallic Ochiba look much better now than they did when I bought them so I'm generally really happy and enjoying them. Most of them feed out of your hand too which is nice.
All comments, good, bad or ugly welcome.

Thanks for the kind comments John.
The Hariwake is my favourite too. Fell in love with him instantly when I spotted him in the corner of a mixed photo on Gatwick Koi's website. Turned up there and said "I want that one" before even seeing him, and I think Gary was a little surprised at my enthusiasm because the fish wasn't quite so pretty in the flesh.
He's star of the pond - follows you when you walk past, comes straight to the top fluttering his fins to get your attention for food. This is how he looked on the day I collected him. I think he's improved to exactly how I imagined he would:

Thanks Frimley.
Lol.... I've got threads all over the place complaining that my filtration isn't good enough, nitrites and fines etc.
Maybe my expectations are too high judging by the clear water comments!
Bottom drain to Nexus 220 and back to the pond (Below water level) at 10,000 LPH via a Pontec 11000 pump and through a 55W UV.
Due to the nitrite problem and awkward logistics in adding a proper shower, I made a shower using a very mature Eheim Classic containing bio media and filter wool pumping at 1000 LPH over 4 plant pots filled with grog. One unexpected feature of this is that it seems to have "polished" off the water and partially reduced fines (but hasn't fixed the nitrite problem yet).

Well what ever you are doing it looks pretty good to me.
Shame about the nitrite though. Hope you get it sorted soon.
Good luck.

Been stuck there for months. I have a thread all about it in the filter section.

I have two Hariwake which i kept from a small grow on project i did a couple of years back, they havnt grown a lot to be honest but have filled out body wise but i love the colour and the doitsu.
Hope you get the nitrite sorted, have you done big water changes?
A shower would help,i fitted one on my pond this year diy job and not too big but i think it has helped.John

Hi john,
As per the other thread I was doing big water changes and within 24 hours nitrite was back at a solid 1-1.5 ppm
EA told me to stop the water changes as to fully cycle the K1 I'd have to swamp it with nitrite. That didn't work but nitrite didn't go any higher either.
Shower is difficult for 2 reasons.... I can't have any noise whatsoever as there's a back alley behind the pond and thieves would be in within days, secondly all my pipework is under a patio.

That's very kind of you, Thank you.
They look a bit different now, mainly bigger, and the small Sanke lost all its colour and now looks like a Tancho Sanke!
Never fancied one.
May have room for one more after the extension (they are bigger now since that vid), and top of the list are a nice old style heavily marked Showa, or a pretty Kujaku.
I'm a little bit tempted by these, but none in the pictures have markings I particularly like.

Hows the Hariwake growing Rs?
I will have a few Chags for sale in the spring but you are a bit far from me
Kujaku are nice but the one I have is very slow growing which is a shame as the markings are good.
Good luck with the pond extension,I would be sharpening the spade up now ready for spring.John

Cheers John,
The Hariwake still looks the same. A few haven't grown much due to lack of food in view of the nitrite issues throughout the summer.
Started digging back in November..... Just a couple dozen sacks of soil a week, about half dug now and have a week off at the end of Feb to get the job completed.
