I got these a few weeks ago from Queni, what do you think ?

They have grown a few cm since I got them, I love a nice ochiba pattern.

    I like these.

Been looking for a young Doitsu Metallic to complete stocking for the new pond. Going to look at one tomorrow.

Had a couple of hours spare so ended up going to view today.... and bought this one:

    20cm, bred by Katsumi

Gatwick Koi had a couple of stunning ones from Kase and I fell in love with one of them but sadly missed out as it sold instantly. At 5% of the price I'm happy to settle with this one and see how it grows.

    Thanks familyman.

In all honesty I know next to nothing about these and there's very limited information online about what to look for / categorising Ochibas, and even less about Doitsu Metallic Ochibas.

So, on the basis the Ochiba pattern is supposed to represent fallen autumn leaves on water, I would say your selection achieves that representation.

My Metallic with the platinum silver/grey body looks somewhat more like fallen autumn leaves on the pavement, and being from the City that will do for me!

I love the metallic looking Koi. I’ll be getting one or two for my pond soon. I’m glad I now know the name to ask for!! I’m new to the hobby so only knew them as “those nice shiny Koi” before this thread few new uns

Hi, thanks for asking, they are doing really well, I don't know how big they are now but definitely much bigger than they were in the pics at the start of the thread.

I will bowl them up at the end of the growing season and have a measure up.

Absolutely love Ochiba. Heard the development can be interesting, I'll be purchasing some similar to this as they are one of my favourites. Here's hoping kitsu koi still have some beauty's next year!!

i suppose actually they have done pretty well, its just that my karashigoi grow so much faster, which makes these seem like slow growers, when they probably aren't.
They're about 42- 43 cm I should think, which isnt bad from June last year.
I guess you'd be happy enough with growth like that from Gosanke, I just expected more chag like growth, what with them being chagoi x soragoi, but they don't seem to be quite out of that mould to me.
    Cheers
    Dave

p.s, yes I love a good Goshiki, they can be truly stunning.
