I,v got a thing about goshiki,s but I,m told that the body goes pale silver instead of dark silver like u guys can get because of our high water temp , I,v told my dealer to get me one like the photo but he says it’s impossible, however that one came to a dealer in Bangkok last year and was sold to a Saudi Prince for 1,000,000 baht £ 25000 . Maybe he’s got a chiller , I hate him already lol

Mine started out darker, then went light, and now has gone like the one in your pic with the hi deepening.

Hi Laura , what’s your water temperature

12 at the mo. It was at 23 before and still went dark. Think it’s maybe down to the hardness of the water, my GH is 9-13 and kh 4-5 with a TDS of around 220.

I think you’re right , the Thais have always told me it’s because they like cool water and our waters too warm, it’s 28 in my pond 9 or 10 months of the year and that’s roofed it’s impossible to keep koi here in the sun but we’re having an unusually cold winter and my temps at 18 . The water here is very hard but I don’t know the kh or gh and neither do they , they don’t have test kits your theory makes more sense enjoyed the chat , regards john

You got them wrong way round I think. Kh is carbonate hardness, gh is general gardness.

New ish tancho
It’s funny you saying that because a long time ago I flew to uk and took a sealed water sample back and asked the local koi dealer to test it and he said same , that he couldn’t understand it they were wrong way round , but then everything here is . So what does it mean . ?
