Let me find a link, there's a site in the Netherlands that sells them cheaper than most places over here.

You will have to drill a significant hole in your filter (I'm assuming that but haven't seen one fitted to an EasyPod) but it's not difficult.Last edited by admin; 30-06-2017 at 02:33 PM.

Just checked, it can be done as you can buy an EasyPod with submersible UV already installed. You can see where it's fitted here:

Thanks John. My only concern with this is, the length of it. I can't see it being horizontal because it will go right through the middle of the mesh. Vertical will have to go through the lid. Not really practical, but would be the best option.

Looks like it should go on the inlet to me.
You do need to make sure it doesn't shine on the media as it will kill the "good" bacteria.Last edited by admin; 30-06-2017 at 02:33 PM.

how do you tackle nutrient build up, through water changes, vegetable filters etc? if all your doing is zapping the algae and not taking away the food source fuelling its growth then it will keep on coming until one of the other limiting factors, temperature or ambient light becomes a limiting factor

if you kill it faster than it reproduces them you get clear water, but you still have to remove the nutrients in some way, i went for a few years with no UV and let plant uptake and plankton gazers deal with it,
the latest instalment will most likely be a combination of the twothe slow pond build thread

Killing/damaging the algae with UV, and removing their dead bodies from the water are 2 different things. You need decent mechanical filtration to clear the water no matter how much UV you have.
It can take a couple of weeks for a new UV to have it's full effect anyway- you might just need to give it a bit more time.2016 new 6000 gallon pond
