    staged or not

A few days ago i found serial on youtube called "Can't pay ,we'll take it away " and it's filmed in UK .
Somehow it seems to me that everyone lives very hard and everyone owes money . I thought life was better there .It looks like there are many refugees in UK.
Now i'm wondering if it's all ben staged ?

Not staged mate, it's the real deal.

I also know one of the agents on that programme (through a Car Forum funnily enough) and what you see is what he does every day.

Life isn't easy for most people, but also most people don't have debt collectors knocking on their door each Month. Some people are just better at managing finances than others.

A forum like this can give the impression that people have lots of easy money and go out buying expensive Koi all the time, but reality is most people do work very hard for it, or have worked hard all their lives and are now enjoying the benefits.

I worked 25 years just to afford a mortgage on a house with a Garden so I could get my Koi Pond.... and a garage to work on my car instead of on the street! Probably similar stories with most people on here, particularly those who live in the South East where even basic houses with Gardens are knocking on half a million pounds.

I've seen the photos of your garden and pond and I am envious at the amount of private land you appear to have and the big house. I could only dream of having something like that here. Yet many people dream of a life in Britain for other reasons. There are advantages and pitfalls for every country.

Thanks for the answer, although I live in a less developed country, I somehow feel safer here .
I'm lucky to have a house and a large piece of land that is not actually seen in the pictures.
The problem is that the average monthly income here is between 200 and 400 euros .. so everyone runs to other countries that are developed to find a better job and get rich overnight. But obviously, even there is not everything great, as is expected.

people look at uk and think wow theyre earning £2000 per month, maybe but the cost of living is a hell of a lot more expensive, why people want to come here is beyond me,apart from the guy i once saw who came here as he wanted £40,000 to finish his house in his own country off our benefits system, then they showed him on a national tv programme with a load of food he had just stolen from morrisons and he had also got a lot of things on finance which he said he would never pay for and they wouldnt do anything to him and he thought it was funny, wtf,i dont mind people with genuine reasons but he wanted putting in a dinghy and sending home, winds me up ,andi

I saw that documentary Andi. Eye opening, not because of what the guy was doing, but to actually see video evidence of what most people believe is happening.

My brother lives and works in Thailand. Earns around £25 per day. He has a huge 4 bedroom bungalow (which he had built himself) on a nice sized plot, mortgage free. Whole thing cost less than £24k. Everyone wears cheap fake designer clothes to such an extent that wearing the real genuine ones gets no recognition as nobody suspects they are real. 10 years ago his friends would be jealous of my expensive mobile phone that they could never dream of affording, but nowadays they can pick up clone phones that are almost as good as the top phones for just £30 to £50.

I've seen a change there over the years and none of his friends would want to live in Britain now as they have everything we have, just fake or copied versions.

Nobody goes hungry because food is plentiful and cheap (I took 3 people out for a meal in a local non-tourist area and had change from £2 and that included 2 bottles of Coca Cola).

The only advantage they see for Britain over Thailand is the lack of corruption. Unfortunately the corruption over there is particularly bad especially if you are foreign. Life doesn't have the same value there as it does here so murders aren't frowned upon like they are here.

If it wasn't for the corruption I'd be tempted to move there and have a huge house, but its that same corruption that has allowed people to live similar lives as we do but with fake designer goods and cloned mobile phones.

Again, it goes back to the advantages and pitfalls of living in different countries.

I enjoy the fact that despite living and working in and around London, I generally get home alive each day, and you can't trade that for a big house.

Just one extra thing on this point because I see a lot of it with Eastern Europeans, specifically Polish and Lithuanian.

Most from those nations come here to work (as opposed to just claiming benefits which many from other nations come here for), and they have a dream of sending money back home and building a big house back home. They try to live as cheaply as possible, which means large groups of 10, even 15 or more renting a single house (rent is very high, £1600+ per Month for 3 bedroom house in reach of London) they share the costs living as cheaply as possible so they can send money home. There will be 3 or 4 mattresses on the floor in every habitable room, and 1 shared toilet and kitchen.

This sounds like a great idea when they first arrive as they only plan on being here for 3 - 5 years.

But inevitably things change, maybe they fall out with their house mates, or some of them can't find work and rely on their house mates to pay their share of the rent, or some have a child, because after 10 or more years they are still here, still living in horrible conditions, and still dreaming of that big house back home which never seems to materialise.

The ones that do go back home usually don't go back to build that big house, they go back because they haven't been able to achieve what they set out to do.

Some of them make it and do very well, but for most they just spend a large portion of their working lives barely surviving and its inevitably a waste of time.

I'm not in Thailand, but the food is cheap here too . Politicians are corrupt and nothing works for the benefit of citizens. I really have a lot of land but it does not mean anything to me. Maintenance costs a lot ..
I can maybe use it for a new pond much larger
