And now something else..
Before we went away we knew that the boiler needed chking as it had the dreaded f75 fault code.
But seeing that in 2 days time we are away we would leave the repair until we returned.
So i just did a quick water pressure top up before we went off on our jollies to knock off the f75.
A mate was calling in several times aday to sort the cat and to feed the aquarium residents...
He called to say a few days before we where coming home that the home was rather cool.
So i asked him to chk the boiler and we already guessed that f75 was showing so we phone BG to attend the following afternoon we get home..
The engineer called and he repressurised the expansion vessel and that told him that the water pressure sensor needed replacing which he did..
Now 2wks on the pressure on the guage is slowly falling and forum boards say its a leak..
Well i have chkd everywhere and i cannot find any leaks..
Im getting rather naffed now as the boiler is just 4yrs old and all was fine until the f75 fault code appeared weeks ago..
We dont get the f75 at all now nothing on the display just the usual like temp...hw....heating or the pressure....
So bloody frustrating......

Well that's modern technology for you Ant LOL
To err is human but to really mess (not the word I was usually use there BTW) it up you need a computer LOL
We've got to have a new boiler fitted in early November and the current one is probably only about 5 years old
Hope you get it sorted out soon before the weather changes or you'll be popping out to M&S or where ever for some extra woollies

I drained 2ltrs out of the system on wednesday and added 1ltr of sentinel 300 inhibitor as it as good reviews...
I then topped up with added water, bled the rads and now the boiler water pressure seems to have balanced itself....
Bi did a bit of research and read in a few places that not replacing the inhibitor can cause issues....
So fingers crossed..You get what you pay for...

What sort of pipework have you got just out of interest Ant? Ours is that micro bore they started using in the 80's to try to make the system work more efficiently but it just furs up more quickly unless you use inhibitor in it. I think they moved away from it quite quickly when they realised the issues you get with it. Our water's very hard too which doesn't help the pipework and fittings but is good for the pond though I think as the KH and GH are always fairly high when I test it.

Good old 15mm copper piping....
Boiler is only just 4yrs old its a vaillant ecotech pro 28 warms the rads up in mins and the hot water....
Very efficent aswell i might add to compare it with our old gas guzzling back boiler...
Micro bore awful stuff to thin no strength....
A mate of mine used to labour of a heating guy and they used Hep20 gear...
Brilliant stuff henused to say....
He could channel all the piping and the guy would attach to the heating system so they didnt have any come backs....
He ended up calling it a day due his health and his missus became very ill....
The heating guy was top dollar though and always very busy.......You get what you pay for...

Things change sometimes for the better and sometimes for the sake of it LOL That speed fit pipework has saved a lot of time but I think you have to be careful what you use it on as I have heard some plumbers saying it can come apart if not installed correctly.

Yeah i know of nightmare installations of the connections coming apart and causing damage......
So i suppose its down to the tradesman actually and how competent he is.....
Even copper pipe as its problems not soldered the joint properly plus where nuts not tightened or olives to thin .....
I do agree that hep2o is a quick installation but costly.....Last edited by Ant62; 13-10-2018 at 05:45 PM.

Really!!!!
Solvent welding pipework is a god send tbh as long as the pipe sits flush the that internal.edge in the fitting and the solvent actually goes on that internal edge then your ok....
Thats my experience...
Hate push fittings on waste pipe i really do...
The compression fitting are ok as long as its done correctly aswell..
Just a thought i would hate to live miles away from a plumbers merchants when your diying......You get what you pay for...

It's not just pipework it's gluing anything in general. Don't know why it is just that it's never something I've been good at.
