These are the exact ones I buy.
Fortunately my Koi are small enough that a bag lasts 3 weeks (feeding mussels twice a week), and at this price its far cheaper than Saki-Hikari!

Hay John
How do you feed the mussels......chop them or throw them in whole?

No experience with feeding mussels to koi but when I tried them on some discus (that are infinitely more sensitive to health issues than koi) I had a problem, the dreaded and usually fatal discus whirling disease. I do not know if it is due to the high content of thiaminase (although I grated and blanched them before feeding to the discus).

Are mussels any good for the koi or is it more just a treat that they love the taste of?

I'd say they are closer to a natural diet than pretty much anything else we feed.
Below 8C through winter I feed nothing but mussels and live food and get some reasonable winter growth too.
In summer they are more of a weekly treat than a daily diet as mussels don't properly replicate a natural diet but If my koi are in a situation where they are not eating pellets for whatever reason, they won't turn down mussels.
