You could always get rid of the cats by putting them in the trebuchet...

(I am convinced that a trebuchet is, somehow, the answer to this problem!)

Just need to get on the case and clear out the shed so I can fit the feeder and should I need it replace the UVC lamp as well.
I actually think inside a building is a better place for a feeder, away from the UV of sunlight which can damage nutrients in food, so long as it's not too warm in there. Let us know how you get on

Yes I agree and thanks I'll let you know but may be some time as the shed is very full and the only place to move stuff to is the garage and that's just as bad

Finally got round to buying the parts for this and I am still in the process of clearing the shed out.

It's been a while since I last used the feeder and I can't remember if the food just literally drops straight down from the bottom of the feeder or does it get thrown outwards slightly? The hopper I have got is a rectangular thing and it's not that much wider than the bottom of the feeder. Also as the feeder is going to be mounted on the back wall of but as near to the corner closest to the pond as possible the hopper might have to be spaced off the wall slightly to be directly under the feeder. As soon as I get the shed cleared it will be a goer
