The timer that came with superfish feeder has packed up. I go on holiday in less than three weeks so desperately looking for a timer that works in seconds rather than minutes. Has anyone got any suggestions for a good timer please.

Has any one had problems with foxes or other animals at night trying to help them selves? I've got a lot of foxes and can imagine the whole lot getting knocked in the pond.

Hi all I'm in the market for an auto feeder, now I've read all of the above reviews but I'm not that keen on the profi feeder or xclear feeder it's the look I don't like but the amount of feeding you can achieve does tick the box! Has anyone got any Experience with aqua Forte koi feeder, the square one (I'm assuming the one feline refers to is the round one), I want to check the amount of times you can actually feed as on absolute koi it says up to ten times a day in one part of the text but in the bullet summary it says 1 to 5 times a day.

Just an update on the Fishmate 7000 .

As I said in the original post , I bought it just over a year ago . The bad news is , Ive had to return it on two occasions for a replacement , due to the screen failing .

The good news is , it has a two year warranty , and the customer service is very good , and I`ve had the replacement in a few days on both occasions .

Have to say , though , the search for a reliable unit goes on ....

I had a Fishmate P7000 for five years, was re
iable in that time but in the end it became unusable due to the sun and the plastic, the plastic became brittle, the hopper had a number of cracks in it, the lid I had to modify to keep it covered, in the end it had to go.
Then bought a real cheapy, similar to the Fishmate P7000 but rubbish, marketed under the Pisces brand, also as Jebao, it failed the first day, was sent another, it failed just as quick.
then went for the X-Clear, first season went fine, went to use it this season, the motor had seized solid, two year warranty and it was exchanged.
If anyone wants one they are on Amazon at a very good pric.

Wow that is a good price! I've had my X-clear a couple of years now and it's been fantastic. I'm tempted to get a second one to put sinking food in

Yes, it is a rebadged X-clear. I wouldn't import one though just in case you needed to use the 2 year guarantee as return postage could be an expensive thing.

Thanks feline yes that is a concern but fortunately have a friend in the army who is serving out there for the next couple of years but comes home every three months or so, so postage wouldn't be an issue as such

I got 2 X-clear feeders and can't fault them. Can program in feed times and duration.

I have had most of the auto feeders and they have all broken from the cheapest to the most expensive. I have settled on the cloverleaf type feeder which i brought labelled as autopetfeeder which was made for cats/dogs but it is very similar. With a few mods like a plastic bag over the whole unit it works find. It is good for elongated sinking food as well as round pellets.

On the subject of replacement timer i have use these ones from ebay

LCD Digital Electronic Plug-in Programmable Timer Switch Socket Minute Hour Week | eBay

They are fairly cheap and work in seconds same as the cloverleaf ones.
