Well days of beautiful sunshine temperatures up into low twenties, low breezes, they have been forecasting a chance of a shower? Not seen any for days, cooler days ahead maybe?

    Out in the open 1245 it’s 21.2°c 41% RH in the shade it’s 20.0°c
The polytunnel has seen temps above 30°c currently 28.3°c Air temps, whilst the pond is still climbing steadily, now @ 18.9°c (this is with a DIY solar system & polytunnel! No direct heating in 8,000 uk gallons) Algae is a bit of a problem this year, water is a bit green, not clear, but it’s not a big concern, Cloverleaf will go in tomorrow. Koi all feeding well.

Can I now call it Summer?

A dry and sunny start for us again here in the midlands this morning with clear blue skies and bright sunshine. It will stay dry again today though more cloud this afternoon than was the case yesterday. It will be another fairly warm day. Dry tonight with clear spells.

Current temp is 9.4°c and the pond is on 17.4°c. Koi all feeding well.

Summer-like for now, but cooler next week and maybe some showers at times!

Another warm and mostly sunny start with some patchy cloud and light winds. Today will be another fine day with sunny skies but becoming a bit more cloudy this afternoon. Quite warm again today. Dry tonight and quite mild with some showers forecast for tomorrow and becoming cooler.

Current temp is 17.0°c and the pond is on 17.2°c.

Several great Sunny days, 27°c + a couple of days ago! The forecast is for lighter winds, getting cooler (back to normal?) for the next week?

Currently @ 1050 this morning the outside temp in the open is 20.9°c & 52% RH, in the shade it’s 19.3°c. The polytunnel has hit temps of 35°c+ air temps recently, currently it’s 28.1°c & the pond is still slowly creeping up, now @ 21.5°c, Koi on six feeds a day.

All looking good, Algae under control now, all koi good to.

    Enjoy Summer.

A dry and mostly sunny start this morning ahead of what will be a deteriorating sort of day. Cloud will increase later and some rain is expected here towards evening. Tonight and today then look rather wet with some persistent rain forecast. Rather cool for June.

Current temp is 9.9°c and the pond is on 16.3°c.

    The Daily pond temp thread

Like many other places, it has been wet for the last two days with some heavy and persistent rain. Windy and cold too with a high of only 10.6°c yesterday!
Today will be another cloudy day but maybe a shade less cold and windy. Some drizzle just now but heavy showers forecast for this afternoon.

Current temp is 8.9°c and the pond is on 15.4°c.

We have had very little rain compared, to north Norfolk & Lincoln, there have been images of flooding around the UK, but we had one twenty min, heavy rain, then drizzle? But it has got much colder!

    Outside in the open it’s 15.5°c & 79% RH, in the shade it’s 14.4°c,
The pond temperature has dropped! (first time since about March)
The polytunnel is @ 19.1°c & pond is 19°c, koi still feeding well, just waiting for next week, when it should warm up again?

In the South east we've been deluged with rain. This time last year we had 2 months without a drop.

Pond is semi-raised and uncovered and has held onto 17C all week despite air temps not achieving those levels.

I am also in South East (Kent) and all this rain and the drop in air temp has dropped my pond temp by a couple of degrees. I think I have taken in a lot of cold rain water due to the shape of the pond, its an all in ground pond, the shape is off an upside down Chinese hat, so a lot of surface area for volume of water and has long slow sloping sides with largish marginal beds. Being uncovered it has taken a lot of rain water, my overflow has been running constantly, for days. I hope excessive rainwater water changes are ok? I should set up a weather station and monitor rain fall, then I could work out by the surface area, roughly what the water change has been. Anyway I am now reading 16.4 with the air temp at 13. I am on a hill also so there is usually a chill factor.

I've drained 1000 litres from pond so far this week and its overflowing again tonight!

It hasn't affected the PH at all (8.2). It probably affected KH but I've got so much KH (14) I haven't bothered to test it.

I suspect you are in South Kent?

In the heatwave last year we went from 27th May till end of July or early August without any rain. There was sporadic rain nearby but it totally avoided us. Obviously with the pond we had the greenest back garden around, but will never forget mowing the front grass and creating huge clouds of dust!

It’s been a very wet night with over an inch of rain in the last 12 hours or so! This morning will see the rain continuing but light than last night. It is slightly less cold than recently too. Patchy rain into this afternoon but becoming drier by evening. Another cool day for mid June.

Current temp is 10.2°c and pond is down a bit at 14.7°c.

Early sunshine has faded already and it’s now cloudy with a few spots of rain in the air. Further showers are expected this morning but it should become drier and brighter this afternoon and evening. More windy than of late will make for another cool feeling day for mid-June.

Current temp is 13.4°c and the pond is on 14.4°c.

It’s a beautiful morning for the summer solstice with blue skies and sunshine. It is quite ‘fresh’ just now but it will warm up nicely through the day. It will remain dry today for a change with some some patchy cloud developing. Dry tonight and another fine day tomorrow.

Current temp is 8.9°c and the pond is on 17.1°c.

Bright sunny morning, after (finally) the rains, still not a lot though,
The forecast is for potential high 30°+ in the next week?

Outside in the open it’s 22.7°c 43% RH @ 10:15 this morning, in the shade it’s 17.6°c. Inside my polytunnel the air temp is 31.4°c with door & window open!
The pond has now crossed the 20’s barrier & is sitting @ 20.8°c, algae problems all gone now, & koi feeding very well on (6) six feeds a day, clear water, & hopefully a trouble free Summer?

Like many others, yesterday was our hottest day of the year at 32.9°c. Its fresher this morning with more cloud about, but it’s pleasant enough with another fine summer’s day ahead, albeit less warm.
It’s set fair for the whole week really with temps into the low 20’s most days, so not bad really.

Current temp is 18.2°c and the pond is on 22°c.

Great few days yes hot, hot, hot yesterday, cooler today, next to no wind, so very comfortable today, still a bit variable?

Out in the open it’s 25.3°c 50% RH @ 10:00 am, the polytunnel is already up to 28.3°c, (nearly hit 40° yesterday) the pond is sitting @ 23.1°c (8,000 uk gallons) had to put up my sail shade to attempt to regulate, & stop too much heat getting into the pond.

All Koi feeding well, no current problems.

    Stay Lucky!

Back to warm sunshine again today after yesterday’s blip with even the odd bit of rain in my gauge. Sunny spells has been the order of the day as it has been feeling quite warm at times. More the same for tomorrow too.

Bought some new Nishikoi growth food today and my koi are loving it! Lol.
