The Daily pond temp thread
South Norfolk
Well the Beast has left us, & since then we have had light winds, a few heavy downpours but mostly bright sunny days, today from early on the sun has been strong & winds light, the forecast is for colder at the weekend, with potential some more snow?
Outside in the open the temperature is 9.1°C @ 71% RH, in the shade it’s 7.7°C
The polytunnel is doing its job as the Pond temp, is slowly rising again up from 5° something a week or so ago it’s now 9.1°C the Koi are becoming active, by stripping any algae they can, they had a small pinch of sinking food, & they cleared it in an instance! So I think hungry?
Today the polytunnel air temp is climbing @ 22.7°C the highest this year so far. Made it to 30° C + @ 1300?
Spring is not too far away? Here’s hoping.

A wet start to the day, but this has now cleared and blue sky is starting to show its hand. It is reasonably mild too. The rest of the day should be mostly dry with sunny spells and maybe a rogue shower. Quite mild once again.
Current temp is 8.6°c and the pond is on 12.6°c.

Well, the cold has returned overnight with a light dusting of snow to greet the new day. There is a strong and cold east wind blowing with a few bits of snow in the air. It will remain much colder than of late today with further snow showers at times, but I’m not expecting any significant accumulation.
Current temp is 0.7°c and the pond is on 12.9°c.

Less cold this morning with bright blue skies and sunshine. There is some patchy cloud about, but the main thing to note is the wind has finally died down! Today will remain dry with further sunny spells and it’ll be milder than yesterday with any remaining snow melting. Cold tonight though with a slight frost.
Current temp is 4.6°c and the pond is on 12.9°c.

A dry and sunny start this morning with a thin layer of high cloud. We also have a frost-free start which is always a bonus! It is set to remain dry again today with further sunny spells although cloud may tend to build through the day. It will be milder than of late too.
Current temp is 6.9°c and the pond is on 12.8°c.

Milder again this morning and it’s currently dry after a bit of rain in the small hours. It should remain dry for the rest of the day, but rather cloudy with only a few bright or sunny breaks. Temperatures will be near the seasonal average.

A cloudy and damp morning and feeling a bit cooler. The rain has fizzled out now but it is expected to remain rather cloudy with maybe the odd shower. Temperatures near average although perhaps struggling to make double figures today with the lack of sun. A much brighter day is forecast for tomorrow.
Current temp is 6.8°c and the pond is on 12.6°c.

After a cool and dreary day yesterday, it is brighter this morning with some sun coming through albeit rather hazy. There is a light wind from the north, so the air still feels chilly. It will remain dry today and the sunshine should become a bit stronger this afternoon and so feeling more pleasant. Cold again tonight though with a touch of frost.
Current temp is 7.1°c and the pond is on 12.5°c.
