Ponds4fish - any good?
Hi there.
Im looking to upgrade from my 1000l raised pond to a 4000l round one I've seen on Ponds4fish.co.uk
Has anyone used this company and are they recommended please?
(I'm going this route as we rent and I don't want to start a big dig etc).
Thanks!

Yes, very good - with limitations - I've had 2 of them, the 4000L with a 4 bay cloverleaf filter and still have a <20 year old bigger one, not shown on their website now. They are heavy and very strong, you'll need a mate or two to get it into positihon, I did mine part below ground with bottom drains fitted, but standing on a solid flat surface would be fine. You can use standard tank connectors, fit a skimmer etc. easy to work with tough material.
You'll need to consider insulation all round if outdoors, or even in a garage or similar. I would definitely recommend, great VFM and you can always move it or sell it later.

Make sure you check it for holes as the first one I had delivered had a noticeable hole where the bottom and side met. The guy that runs the company said I could just use a hot knife to reseal the hole! I didn't want to risk that and they replaced it.

Ah yes, we're going to have to hoist it up and over a wall which is 6ft one side and drops 10ft on the other as it's not going to fit through the gate!

At least you won't have to go too high up the ladder as if you go for a 4000 litre one I think it's about 8ft diameter so will be high enough to get over the 6ft side but as already mentioned will require 2 people to shift it. We used a double extension ladder and put the 2 sections a few feet apart so it was easier to guide and pull it up and then getting it off the garage roof was slightly lower so just used 1 section with someone keeping it centred at the bottom. Don't make the ladders too upright as the thing will slide down too fast and take you with it if you're not ready for it.

Had one for over 20 years. It's as good as the day it first went in the ground.

This might be a bit late
I’ve just bought a rectangular pond from Ponds4fish, it’s a 1000 litre tank above ground
How has anyone found the staff there?
Could anyone give me. A heads up please

When I called them before buying my current pond from them they were pretty helpful. The guy that delivered the pond was really helpful and even gave me a hand to get it over the 10ft hedge round the side of my garden. I got the 7200 litre round one which was the biggest one they do. It weighed about 80 kg so was a real struggle between the 2 of us. At least it saved me getting a crane in to get it into the back garden.

I have them a call about some of their blog posts, the reply back from them was very terse and not helpful at all
The said ‘We don’t do pond design’
I then asked if I could order a pond from them using my debit card
They just said if you want to buy anything ‘Use the website’
As it was the right pond I wanted I bought it (£500)
If they didn’t do the pond I wouldn’t have used them by their attitude

They have been around for a few years as I got the first one in 2011 and they weren't a fresh start up then.

Maybe I caught them on a good day each time?
What are you using to support the sides of your pond or are you digging it fully into the ground?________________________________________________
