    Polycarb panels taking shape

Got up bright and early this morning to finish off the varnishing, all went well and the sun duly dried the timber by about 2pm, whilst waiting for the varnish to dry I went online to lagging.com and purchased some armaflex nitrile foam in 15mm, 54mm, 60mm, 114m bore and in differing lengths for my exposed pipe work, i also popped round to my local Aylesford timber and purchased a large sheet of 25mm Ecotherm panels, i have enough for 2 sheets that will cover my window, i also got some small lengths of wooden trim which i will glue in place on the outer edge between the two panels which will then be taped over and so rather like a 50mm cavity wall / sandwich this will be placed against the glass snuggly fitting under the coping stones and the polycarb covers, in the end i had a bit of a mare in truth, i put the wood together to make the frame and realised that the lengths had been cut wrong, luckily they were 15cm too long and so i had to go back round and get them chopped to size using their timber saw, so back home and frames now much better so with drill in hand i went to my box of screws and sod me no wood screws long enough to go through the 4" timber so back out to Wickes this time to buy some 100mm screws, back home made my first frame and then proceeded to drill holes for the polycarb buttons, that went ok, i then proceeded to tape up the lengths with a heavy duty waterproof tape all neat and tidy then realised i had left the selaphane on the polycarb, so off with the tape and the selaphane and had to re tape the lengths, not impressed, wife came home from work and i am miles behind where i wanted to be, in the end completed 1 panel and half way through the next one, will continue tomorrow, all good plans went to rats.... Steve
