Yeah just been reading about them, QT facilities look second to none, in it funny I've been to both shops and although I thought the Sutton shop had more fish that were nice, I had discounted both, glad that you've pointed me back in their direction as the quality and prices look excellent.

Posted a video of all the fish on this thread:
https://www.koiforum.uk/koi-gallery-...oi-2019-a.html
Not the best of videos as the colours look washed out due to reflections in the water. The Kirin is fat now which has stretched her colours a bit. Apparently it could take a couple of years before the black scaling properly comes through. She's lost a bit of yellow off the head, but still looks ok.
Need to get a video under sunlight to show her at her best.

Tom,
Best place to view their fish is on their website, then collect it from the quarantine facility.
With mine they said if I didn't like the fish in the flesh I could use the deposit towards a different one. As it happens most of their fish looked even better in the flesh and I instantly feel in love with mine!

Only discovered them myself a year ago but I'd imagine the website will always have a large quantity of fish offered, but not necessarily available to collect as they quarantine for 3 months.

Hi Tom,
for what its worth if were to do this all over again where the new pond and filters are concerned I would 100% opt for fishless cycling until my filters had come good, I should of listened but like most you cannot wait to get some fish in your pond and I get that but they will go through it a bit as your water parameters will be all over the place which will effect your fish.. .. you need ammonia and fish waste etc to feed the filters to get the cycle working, its taken me 8 weeks to get my ammonia to zero and 11 weeks to get my Nitrite to 0.2 but has been as high as 1 with nitrate around 35 !!! which caused flashing and basically lethargic fish, I think I have had perfect temps and conditions along with a fortune spent on live bacteria etc to get where I am so quickly, I started off slowly and still only have 4 fish in the pond between 10" to 14" and 2 around 20" I can tell though that it would not take much more fish pressure to tip the balance and suffer with spikes... ..sounds controversial but if you went down the sealed hessian sack route with horse manure it will mature your filters quite quickly especially during warm ambient conditions... Steve.

I guess you can pick them up online mate, they will be open sacks so you can fill them but you will need to twist the sack and tie up with some string or something like that, you just want the oozing ammonia and festuring bacteria to seep out, this will drench your immature media with lots of ammonia and natural good bugs etc just what the filters need, put them in and leave for a while, don't bother doing any water tests for at least a few weeks and then see what happens, I was told to do this by a Koi supplier/buyer who has helped me a lot alongside all my fellow friends on here i know he matured a pond in Spain in amazing time obviously there was high ambient temp which really helped benefit the new pond but it makes sense if you think about it and you don't have the hardship of suffering stressed fish or yourself !!! just let it get on with it...….

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
