Sorry Sim it went off at a bit of a tangent somehow
I used your pump again today after fitting 2 waterproof sockets controlled by a 2 gang switch. 1 is for the waste water pump and the 1 is for the air pump. Both have their lids down and latched so that is why they are switched from above

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
