    Amalgam UV installation

I'm thinking about purchasing an Amalgam 40W submersible. I'm running a single BD via gravity to a Cetus and then into a Nexus 220.

Has anyone fitted an amalgam UV to a Cetus sieve? It seems to me that it would involve drilling a hole in the bottom section where the outlet is. I haven't done the measurements yet but it looks a bit tight given the Amalgam 40W is 50cm long.

Maybe integrating it into the Nexus is an option - could it be fitted somehow into the inlet before it hits the easy section?

I'm aware of the need to protect the eyes etc...

Looking at one of these myself but a little confused by the difference in price for the same thing, some at £210 other over £300. Any reason?

Not really sure but you can get the parts and the bulbs from them so know the costs going forward.
I have ordered one, so should have it before the end of the week.
I did call them last week to talk about a drop in UV but was told this is a better way to go as changing bulbs is straight forward.

Can I ask where you’ve ordered yours from?

I've ordered from coastal koi, had a fair bit of kit off them now, they are always quick delivery and never had any problem.
If you join there members you will see on there website you get a little discount too which always helps.

I have a N220, I looked onto this to replace an inline Evo55 uv .
I considered placing the amalgam vertically into the vertical inflow from the bottom drain as did @Koiz ( she's a great source of evidence based info.)
The amalgam is not suitable for a nexus as the type of plastic the nexus is made from is not uv stable long term.

It's a long time for a reply but the plastic must be stable as EA are now selling the easypods with amalgams in them. I cant see them using a different plastic in an easypod,
