New Aquatic FIsh Vet - London

Just come across this, London Aquatic Veterinary Services.

Home visits are £70 an hour plus mileage.

Seems to be funded by the Australian Dr Richmond Loh, famous for his Youtube diagnosis and treatment videos.

Should be a helpful service, but sounds like it could get expensive real fast. I suppose if you purchase 9k fish a few 100 more won't be an issue.

I'm the kind of person that will do whatever I can to prevent a death, so yes, I can imagine myself spending £200 on a service like this to save my £30 Koi!

In fact, I've already have in the form of Fluke Solve to save the pond fillers I bought to mature the filters.

Have you by any chance seen the stuff qq is selling? Koi doc fluke pro f. Not tried it yet, but I purchased enough for 2 treatments for less than the price of 1 treatment of flukesolve. Hopefully it won't be needed but it's in the cuboard just incase.

Hadn't seen it before, thanks for the link.

It seems Koi Doc is not a registered company in the UK so I wonder if its something else rebranded and exclusive to Queni?

The medication says its Flubendazole based, the ingredients, available sachet sizes and the dosages are identical to Kusuri Fluke M.

But the Queni stuff is a LOT cheaper...

Never used fluke m before, fluke solve didn't seem to do much last year. Ended up getting some lernex pro.

I read a lost on hear that flubenzol was his choice of fluke treatment so hopefully if it's needed it will do the trick.

I’m always suspicious when a company’s web page does not have a landline number, then more so when they don’t list an address, bit of googling I’ve found the person was at a local vets to me until this year, recent became a director of the new company on the 5th April. Found the registered address to a semi in Hanwell West London.
Having dealt with the local vets I a few years ago I won’t be calling them.

If you are referring to the female director, it looks like she was working at a vets (Bristol way) voluntarily whilst she finished her degree.
She also won Vet Nurse of the Year award.

So its possible the poor quality of your local vets wasn't attributable to her.

It also looks like the business is yet to find a premises, as its currently registered to her home address and there is no associated accountancy firm yet.

Value of the business is currently £8100

Less the the value of some koi listed online.

I'm sure the service will be of great help to some. However, I don't think I could afford to pay the mileage for the travel to Cumbria.
