Heater size on a q/t
On a 350 gal q/t or grow on would a 2kw heater be more advantage than a 1kw?
It is going to cost more to run but wont be on as long so does that balance out cost wise?
Can get either for the same price but dont know whether to go for the bigger one.
Any suggestions please?
John

even a 1 kw will heat that very fast.
I have a 1 kw on 659 gallons, its well insulated and covered but it will heat it too quickly if you let it.

I should be ok,my mate who is retired now but an electrician wired the garage up but unfortunately he has parkinsons now so cant do anything like that.
I have gone for a 1kw heater in s/s,what size cable would I need for it,would 1mm be ok or bigger?
Will be about 3mtr run.John

1kw will run easily off a normal plug, assuming theres not other things plugged in the same drawing from the same run.
I had 1 kw heater, water pump, and air pump all running off a normal socket, never had a problem, it never even got warm.
