Cloverleaf blanket answer
Hi all,
I treated my pond with blanket answer 5 days ago to the recommended dosage. It seems to have stopped any further growth but the blanket weed has remained without dieing off. I treated to the dosage on the instructions. Does anyone know if it is safe to retreat now and at a higher dose or best leave it a few more days? Pond is crystal clear again after a couple of milky days water parameters are fine. Thanks in advance.
Jon.

Be very careful with that stuff Jon.
I used some at the stated dose 4 or 5 years ago and caused me no end of problems as the instructions didn't tell you everything you need to do when using it.
Remove as much of the blanket weed as you can first as already mentioned, add some extra aeration and keep an eye on your ammonia levels as the dead or dying blanket weed can send them quite high quite quickly.
Just remember the warmer the water temperature the less oxygen in holds and the more toxic ammonia becomes.
Check out this chart -

From what I've read on here most people only use that stuff at half or even quarter the stated dose. I was recommended Blanket Weed Resolve and with that you don't need to turn off your UVC I think you have to with the Cloverleaf stuff?
As for redosing with it - don't go above recommended dose and read what it says on the tub first OK.
Good luck.

I've used cloverleaf.
I've used EA blanketweed Stop
I now use Aqua Source Blanket weed resolve.
They all take time to 'kill' the blanket weed, think of it less as killing, and more starving to death.
Give the cloverleaf time, at least another week, and then buy the Resolve if you need to.

Another one for Aqua Source Resolve, doesn’t kill my veg section where as Blanket Answer does.

Thanks for all the advice. I checked the ammonia levels yesterday and they were showing zero so no problems on that front yet. I've added extra Aeriation too as I was concerned about that also. I've seen salt mentioned and was wondering if I should remove the lily and dose to 0.3% to really try and kill the stuff. Want to get in top of it before the summer kicks in as already partially blocked the bottom drain and that's another problem. Cheers
