NT Labs FMG mix or make my own?

Hi there sorry to trouble you, I have 11000 litre pond and a few of my koi have fungus on them mainly on tails and a few bits on body, it is definetly fungal.

I’m looking at the ntlabs fmg medication with formalin and malchite green, do you recommend this or do you recommend mixing your own

    Thanks again

    Jonny

Buy Duncan G's book so you have the right info at your fingertips in this situation. koiquest.co.uk

Fungal infections are rarely a primary disease. it is generally secondary to some other issue with your water quality or some other parasite.

I would use MG on its own to address the fungus, and do scrapes to look for flukes and other stuff. Check filters for any crud buildup and do a full set of water tests. I would avoid using anything that can damage their protective mucus coat until you have nailed down what started it- so avoid formalin and PP for now.
