Getting into that temp fluctuating time of year here.... swinging between 7C and 10C but the average over the last few days has crept up to 9C.

Maybe I should stop complaining every day that I can't achieve 15C and therefore can't collect my new Kirin Koi until temps stabilize at that level. Seems like a lifetime waiting when you've paid for a Koi but can't collect it.
I'm feeding twice a day now as of this week. On the CCTV they are all waiting in the feeding corner from just after 6am and I feed around 7:20am, then in the afternoon they are all hanging around there from 3pm and I feed around 4.30pm.
Except for the 3 greediest ones who stay there every waking hour!Last edited by RS2OOO; 20-03-2019 at 08:22 PM.

My temp has been about 8c.
But today went up to 9.5c. Same as
RS starting to feed twice a
day. Morning and afternoon. Just an handfull. At a time. For a couple of weeks. Then start upping it. Unless temps drop. Gave mine ther first slice of bread today. For this year. Gone in seconds. Haha.
Love it.

Pond temperatures will be held down by soil/ground temperatures which unfortunately are at their lowest at this time of year (worst being around mid Feb) and have only just started to recover. If you have insulation in the construction this helps, otherwise your pond will be near to ground temps. I have a ground temp of 8.2C at 0.5m deep and water at 8.3C

Not sure what my temperatures are but I've been feeding once a day for the past few weeks as they are asking for food as soon as I get near the pond. Just giving them a very small amount at the moment as it's not the normal feeding frenzy just to see how quick they eat it all. I'm guessing that being down south I'm getting slightly warmer temperatures than some of you are?
