    Omosako Kaminari(NEW VARIETY)

This is a new variety produced by Omosako Koi Farm but what do you UK hobbyists think of it? Could there be a market for it?
It received pretty negative reviews on a US forum...

    Omosako Kaminari(NEW VARIETY)

Im of the same opinion as blue Iím afraid. Doesnít look anything special in particular at all, i mean they look very close to gin rin ogons but more like just another few mixie flops from a garden centre. In the uk they would be regarded as a type of ghosty in all fairness. Imo Its a Bad move from omosako farm if it really is from them??
Theres a chance maybe that omosako are trying to use their name in order to move them on at a higher price? I certainly wouldnt give a few hundred quid for one when theres such similar fish that are 10 a penny for £10 at the local garden centre Omosako Kaminari(NEW VARIETY)

looks like a clever ( or not so ) move to re name poor quality ogons to gullable buyers to me....but I find that difficult to believe from omosako, they wouldnt rear them if they were just poor quality fish.

I don't think there is any way in hell that Omosako would put their name to these fish !! whatever they are !

They don't appeal to me at all, they just look like mutts.

These on the other hand are supposed to be a new variety being bred by Wada and Kaneko. They are far nicer looking than Omasako's effort above, but still I don't think they're quite distinctive enough to be a popular new variety. I'd probably still consider having one in my pond though.

They are being sold here Freddy:

Agree with Familyman that they look almost the same as Kujaku... but with a 96cm Purachina parent you are buying on the hope they stretch well.

Now they are better RS2000 Omosako Kaminari(NEW VARIETY)
To be fair kujaku blood line has ogon in it anyway so really they are a lighter more ogon based kujaku, they look quite nice fish to be fair, kind of like a more yellow patterned kujaku. Having strong ogon lines will help with potentially big growth too Omosako Kaminari(NEW VARIETY) i would take one if i had room.

Been trying to find out more about Wada's new Kirin variety and come across this video.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MNKfZU8sDI&t=941s

    These are growing on me.

He called them Kirin because of a type of beer with a popular dragon logo, but it actually translates as giraffe.

That is quality Lee, nice one.

You need one of those koi now. I've asked Gary at Gatwick if he's going back to Japan to replace some of his losses and to enquire about getting some.
