Adding Sodium Bicarbonate to pond or bio chamber

I need to add sodium bicarbonate on a weekly basis to keep my KH levels.

I usually just add it to the filter in one go into the hel-x chamber as it has plenty of flow and movement to dissolve the powder.

Will this affect my filter as I'm adding it directly into the bio chamber?

If you add Sodium Bicarbonate where do you add it, the pond or the filter ?

    Thanks

I put mine straight into the m0ving bed for the same reason as you (flow to disolve the powder) have wondered myself previously if this would affect the biofilm. Haven't noticed any ill effects and suspect that the contact time with the media would be insufficient to affect the bacteria.
