Reconditioned IBCs
Not an eBay find, not as cheap as eBay, but good value compared to other sites when you consider they deliver.

Jebao TSP 20,000 lph variable pumps available again.
I have one and it's a brilliant pump, variable between approx. 5000 lph and 20,000 lph.
At 10,000 lph it only uses around 50-55 watts. Approx. 186 watts at full speed.
Not sure if these are still being manufactured so grab one quick if you want one. Great value for money.

Did you measure these figures with a flow meter? I only ask because I have two of these pumps and agree they are great, and I'd be interested to know the realised flow rates. For some reason I thought the range was 9000lph - 20000lph, but I can't remember where I got that from and can't find the manual...

They don't seem to come with a manual.
Jebao do provide a chart somewhere online showing the max flow rate vs head loss.
I've never actually measured mine for accuracy.
The calculation I made was simply based on the controller read out which ranges from 30% flow to 100% flow. I assumed 30% was around 5000lph.
I'd say with certainty that when set on 30% you do not get 9000 lph as the flow is quite a bit slower than my other non-variable 10,000 lph pump.

This is a bargain..... And I want one, just don't have a van.
15x fibreglass QT tanks for £450
That's just £30 each, outstanding value.
If we could all chip in £40 for 1 each then the person with the van has to spend a day delivering to us all and gets the £10 extra (£140) plus one QT tank for him/herself for free....

I'd do it if I had a van.

Just saw an advert for a Pond Xpert 20k variable pump, which looks like the same unit, and you're correct, it is advertised as max flow variable between 9000lph and 20000 lph.
Makes no sense to me as that doesn't correlate with the controller that can be adjusted between 30% and 100% flow.
There's no way on earth mine is producing 9000 lph on the lowest 30% setting. I'd say even 5000 lph is optimistic.
At full flow it pumps out significantly more than my old Pontec 11000 so I'd say after head loss of 1 metre and 4 metres of pipework 18,000 lph would be a reasonable estimate for max flow in my set up.

That's interesting - I used to run Oase Aquamax 8000 and on the minimum 30% setting the Jebao 20k is definitely pumping significantly more than the Aquamax did, so I assumed the 9k figure for minimum flow was pretty accurate.
I'm guessing the power -> flow equation is non-linear. I've had it running at 90% and thought it must be near the limit in terms of flow, but if I increase it to say 95% it seems to kick up yet another gear and the head in the Nexus will drop by 4 inches!
Either way they're excellent pumps IMO, especially when you consider the cost. The Aquamax used 100W just to push 8k and it cost me over £300!

Well, it is hard to estimate flow rates from pumps with the naked eye so only real way to tell is to measure it.
But definitely 30% flow is much slower than my 10k pump - you can visually see that with ease.
But lets say for a minute I'm wrong and it really is 9000 lph at 30%, at that setting mine is only using something like 38 watts. That's incredible efficiency when you think about it.
Agree about small flow percent increases towards the top end of flow make a big difference.
Will always use variable pumps from now on.
Currently using a 10k lph pump on a 750 litre tank.... cos its all I had available. If only that one was variable.
