I will try to explain as simple as possible but befor that i need to tell you something so you can better understand me .
I live in a country that is not developed, and is not a member of the EU. In most cases nobody wants to send pond equipment to us, so its difficult to buy anything from the other countries.

Here where i live there is not a single supplier of pond equipment .When i get something it costs me three times more then its price. So a heater is very expensive for me and in order to save equipment, during the winter ,we simply shut down the filtration . We change water and in this way we try to reduce harmful compunds in water , ammonia etc..
When you dont have a heater ice start to form very quickly Honestly i would like to have filtration during the winter but the risk of losing pumps and other equipment is too big and it can cost me a lot .

I spoke the Mike at QK, he said it’s a tricky job and with my replacement arriving tomorrow not to attempt it.

It has definitely got me thinking about what if this type of thing happens again.

ive ran a bakki on its own for 7 years when i added the drum i kept the feed it and added anothe on the drum so im never withouta filter apart from a power cut and can run x3 filters independently

Banks, what Andi suggested sounds very do-able,do a ring round the drum with a valve on it or turn the drum by hand till the mesh join is at the top undo the bracket holding the join together and gently peel back the mesh a bit then turn the drum till the join is at the bottom.

A lot of folk seem to be having problems with their pressure pump,it would be a lot simpler to connect straight to the water mains, mine is like that and works fine with loads of pressure,i have even turned the pressure down a bit to save water as i am soooo tight.

Personally because I am on metered water, I want any fresh mains water I use to be part of a water change for the pond and not straight down the drain. That's why I prefer to use clean side water for the screen cleaning. The day will come when everyone will be on a meter I reckon and it might change their thinking.

    100% agree Feline.

    From unmetered house: £352 annually.
To metered house: £870 annually. And that's after discounts for non return to sewers.

Thanks Andi, i agree it sounds simple, but i am tight for space, any bypass would need to go around my bio box as well because they are side by side rather than in series.

I have attached a photo, this shows both exits going to the bio, now one goes to the shower. I am going to start another thread on how I can make my decking lid more water proof as well.

are they the outlets on bio chamber at front 2 of them,if so can you not just got T piece bd pipe with valve then piece of pipe to outlet pipe on bio chamber,or even easier as you dont want to send dirty water through bio box, then just have a T piece on bd pipe with a valve and put a pump onto this with a flexi pipe rolled up when not in use, when in use throw into pond, andi
