I have the pond netted 2sides closest to the woods, it seems like the drum just cannot cope with leaves.

I'm surrounded by trees but oddly only the odd one makes it into the pond
2" mesh cover probably helps deflect them, but I expected many more than I've had.

My drum seems to deal fine with the leaves. It may depend on drum design?
I occasionally take a photo of the inside of my waste chute with my phone to check it's clean.
This pic shows the brushes that are inside the drum to help brush any crud off the waste chute edges as the drum rotates. When I've watched the drum in action these brush bars help catch up larger debris like leaves to get them rinsed into the chute. I don't think all drums have this feature- it was one of the things that attracted me to the Coastal Koi Aqua drum.

Feline,
I have exactly the problem with my AEM that the brushes on your drum resolve. Every now and again I have to clear out the chute.

Mine is the Aquadrum, great piece of kit.
I like it but I’ve just taken out half a bucket of leaves from inside the drum.
