Grow Ons
Hi All,
I would really appreciate peoples thoughts on whether Grow Ons are really just a side show in order to keep people entertained over the winter? Or, can they be a legitimate way of producing quality fish?
Many quality Koi seem to cost into the thousands now, is it actually possible to spend on smaller fish, grow them, take the enjoyment from that, and have a real chance of ending up with something quality at the end?
Thanks
Adam

of course chances are going to be slim with any gosanke, but with varieties like chagoi, karashigoi etc, you stand a decent chance of growing something nice, because they are just a single colour, and their appetites kind of ensure they will grow quickly.
Ive got some Karashigoi that have grown 1 cm a week, all year since April till now, they were 20 quid each, from Queni, at the size they are now they would be 300 quid from a dealer, and most of them are really nice fish, good scalation, good body shape and colour, very simple imo compared to kohaku or showa etc.
