quarantine tank
Hi guy,s I have been offered another koi for my pond.as my mate moving,The koi looks really nice etc water quality was good last month when last checked.Question is, is it worth putting it in a quarantine tank for a while with some thing,i think some one said copper or something like that.cheers

All new Koi should be quarantined in a suitable set up before adding to your main pond.
The only exception might be if you know the person your buying from and you can trust what they are saying.

So if i put in quarantine tank what do i put in the tank medicine.salt?and for how long

Just observe it. Maybe medicate with FMG to start with.
The general idea of a QT is to treat a smaller amount of water than your pond and keep any issues confined to your QT rather than your pond
Dont keep koi on their own.

The quarantine tank needs to be like a miniature pond with a mature filter and water at heater.
i would not medicate unless you have a reason to.
