I use a double sided window squeegee on a pole. Rubber scraper one side and sponge the other. Works a treat.

Tried most things over the years, loads of squeegees, the foam disintegrates, the rubber hardens, but this is the best so far.

I use a flipper magnet, the orange one, has a blade on one side and an algae scrubber on the other. Use the blade and never have to get my hands wet cleaning the window.

Mines 24.5 I think, and I was surprised the magnet worked, would probably want the bigger one ideally however on 33mm glass you’d have to look for a larger more industrial magnet I would have thought.

I use pool brush first then an Oxo scrubber like the one Doitsusanke linked to above for any stubborn bits that don't easily brush off.
When my pond was covered last winter I used a magnet aquarium cleaner (the super duper strength one). You do occasionally tend to lose the inside bit (which floats so easy to retrieve) so you have to move the thing fairly slowly, but if you do a couple of mins with it every 2-3 days it does a pretty good job of keeping the window clean without having to lift the covers off to brush it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00Y2RUW...754&th=1&psc=1
My window is 24.5mm thick. I suspect you would have problems with thicker glass.2016 new 6000 gallon pond

Sainsbury do a nice stiff brush in their "value" range at £2.49 that works real well.
Alternate is to heat to a min of 18C all year and get a couple of Pleco

I have seriously thought about getting some plecos and having an indoor tank for them for when I turn the temperature down in the pond for a few weeks.
Which variety of Pleco are the best ones to get for this? I read somewhere that there are some that will try to eat scales off the fish if they get really hungry which is a bit concerning. But I don't think my pond walls will ever be so clean they would have nothing to scoff2016 new 6000 gallon pond

unless your ponds over 22.5oc then you will just end up with a very stressed if not dead fish, and thats the coolest your recommended to subject them to, even when I had ad them in a tank you still need to clean the glass as they will readily leave spots and find fish food more appealing than algae on the glass

Sods law the pleco will find more algae on the sides than on the glass !

I’ve know of plecos in outdoor dealer vats that have cleaned the sides up well, ponds were sitting at 18c with the plecos still inside, think they would be removed when the temps drop to 16/17, these were large fully grown sail-fin plecos.
