I have loads of frogs and newts - never had a parasite problem - I'm envious of your thunder storm though - We haven't had a thing - they have skirted round but all missed us. The garden is desperate we are in danger of loosing trees that have been in for years and as for the grass - it crunches as you walk over it even the weeds are dying!
6000g in ground koi pond
+3000g lily/Anoxic pond attached
29 koi (40 to 65cm)
Bottom drain, Mid water & Skimmer to Drum
JBR boichamber->Blue eco 500 pump ->below surface return.
Blue Eco 240 -> Large MB -> Waterfall -> Planted Anoxic pond (25 baskets)

Yes I have had some frogs as well! 3 in the past week. I’ve caught all of them along the back wall of the pond about to get in. Never had them before, only toads at the beginning of the year. Very strange.

You may find that due to the extended hot weather we've all been having the pond or river etc where the frogs normally hang out have dried up so they go looking for another source of water. Usually frogs tend to go back to where they were when they were tadpoles and if you remove them they just keep coming back unless as what could be happening now is their original spot has gone. As long as they don't spawn in your ponds although it's too late in the year for that now they will hopefully not make their new ponds into their permanent ponds and you may find as the weather changes and their original ponds etc. fill up again they may return to them.

We used to get them in our old house and the noise they used to make in the mating season was staggering!!! There would be masses of them all clamped together in a giant wrestling match making a very loud and long croaking sound

It’s round about this time of year that the tadpoles have fully transformed into tiny frogs and wait for a heavy rain storm to leave their ponds. Watch out with your lawnmowers for those who are cutting the grass. I have to chase dozens off the lawn before I cut it. Also had thousands of flying ants yesterday which the koi were feeding on as they landed in the pond.

never had one in the pond, unsurprisingly …... found one in the garden last week though, had to save it before the dog got it.
