Dancam,
Hello and welcome. I went for sloped and the slope gets steeper as it gets nearer the bottom drain but I also have underwater jets pushing stuff down towards the bottom drain at 7.5 feet. My pond is basically long and thin. To be honest I am thinking that the slope at the bottom drain which is aerated is too much and allows the air to lift the crud back in to the water column which is not good. The solution may be to lift the bottom drain about a foot and level off around it.

I think bottoms of ponds should be slopes towards bottom drains!!
Saying that my pond bottom is flat and it has not caused me any problems.

So long as you have a fast enough pond turnover I don't think it matters if flat or sloped. My pond floor is flat, and if you watch a fish poo land right near a corner the furthest from one of the bottom drains, it only stays there a few seconds before the movement of the fish themselves sends it towards and down the drain.
If you only had small fish and were very lightly stocked you would not get this effect so much, but then you would also not get so much poo2016 new 6000 gallon pond
