    Spare a thought

Whilst we are basking in a heatwave spare a thought and a prayer for those caught up in the flooding in Japan. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-44749847

I was actually wondering the same.

Momotaro is built with quite a high wall between their fish houses/pond and the Asahi River however, Sakai is very close and on the same level as the Asahi River I haven't heard any news saying that these two have been affected.

Most of the Koi breeders in the Hiroshima area are close to a river.

I think I'm correct when I heard that nearly half a metre of rain fell in 24 hours that is a lot of rain.

I've been living in America for the last year and a bit. Fortunately I've been having someone look after my pond over here. I also have a pond over there now. Thank goodness for drums and semiautomated filtration. Although, the local Koi dealer looked at my drum like it was something from the future... They are still stuck on bead filters and pressure pumps.

If Momotaro were hit badly then that must mean Sakai will have been even worse. Momotaro has quite a impressive berm between the fish houses in the river. Although, I did hear that the floods were quite literally biblical.
